Monolithic and Obsolete
I was fed up with the slow and cumbersome platform of my previous bank (one of the Big Four) and the difficulty of trying to find answers to questions that were always outside the 'common' FAQs.
I liked the idea of a bank that was immediate, comprehensive and easy. And, I admit, I was impressed with the story behind the way Starling started.
So far, I've not been disappointed. Contacts were easy, with real people who answered promptly and willingly, without condescension. And I have it all at my fingertips; all transactions, statements, messages... all just a tap away on my phone.
And switching was a doddle. Shoulda dun it soona, Guv!
The obsolete banking monoliths should take note, tomorrow is already here.

Very disappointed.
I opened an account in the hope to set up a joint bank account with my twin sister. My sister tried to apply for an account and was rejected without any explanation as to why, despite having queried this a few times. We both have the exact same circumstances so I cannot understand why her application was rejected and mine was approved. Because they cannot accommodate my sister or provide any rationale, I will be setting up a bank account elsewhere where they can accommodate the both of us.

Loved them at first but after well over a year of use have gone off them.
- regular issues with payments not going through for 'security' reasons, meaning transaction cannot happen and have had to use another card
- can only withdraw £300 A DAY. No exceptions. can only draw out at post office. No exceptions.
- Website not good to use (app is good though).
- Channel shift away from phone to online chat - end abruptly, not impressive
If you want free banking where you have to do it their way, then it's good. If you want flexibility and be able to access or spend your money when you want, deff look elsewhere.
I was a huge ally, but they've lost me. And no customer serves at Starling, I don't want to drop you a message with my account number - you've made it very clear none of these policies will be changed!

Great Business Account
Setup my account on a Saturday. Was a fairly straightforward process as I had all the documents needed at hand. Was approved within a few hours which I thought was impressive considering it was a Saturday afternoon.
Account and app have been working perfectly so far. Can’t fault the service charge either (£0). Hands down beats all the big name banks that offer similar account types.

I love this bank it's so easy to use…
I love this bank it's so easy to use and has great features on the app, I can even get notification when my card is used and if I wanted I could go on my app and pause my card from being used. It's shows payments coming in before you even no yourself. I moved all my banking from bank of Scotland with one slide of a button and they transferred everything over to my new starling account. Amazing is an understatement I give this bank account 11 out of ten and on holiday no charges for using my account fantastic

Generally Very Good
Generally, a quick set up, very straightforward, good technical platform, everything worked. The only outstanding thing is we can't work out how to obtain a second debit card and we'll need backup support for this.
